Delcy Rodríguez will assume the Presidency of Venezuela by order of the Supreme Court controlled by Chavismo

The Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) of Venezuela, an organization controlled by Chavismo, ordered this Saturday that the executive vice president, Delcy Rodríguez, who assume the Presidency of the country starting this Monday, January 5, after the capture by the US military of Nicolás Maduro.

Rodríguez, a member of the Somos Venezuela Movement, an ally of Chavismo but not integrated into the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), has held the position of executive vice president of the nation since June 14, 2018.

The still number two in the Government must be sworn in in Parliament this Monday. Precisely, like every January 5, the National Assembly (AN) begins its legislature, this time for a new period (2026-2031) and with new deputies after controversial elections not recognized by the international community and in which the majority of the opposition did not appear.
