Eight skiers were found dead and one more is missing, after being hit by an avalanche in the north of the state of California this Tuesday, authorities reported this Wednesday, who had undertaken a search against time.

The skiers belonged to a group of 15 people, including four guides, that was buried by snow in the Sierra Nevada. Six were rescued alive.
