Three dead in a new US attack against an alleged drug boat in the Pacific

The attack took place under the direction of general Francis L. Donovancommander of the force, who visited Venezuela this week, when the ship was transiting known drug trafficking routes.

With the death of these three people, during the operation carried out by the Laza del Sur Task Force, there are more than 110 murdered during US military activities in the Caribbean and the Pacific, between August 2025 and the present.

Donovan, who assumed command of the United States Southern Command in early February, visited this week Venezuela to meet with the country’s military authorities, currently directed on an interim basis by Delcy Rodríguez.

The presence of US military ships and aircraft in international waters began in the Caribbean and preceded the military intervention of January 3, 2026, when the United States captured the Venezuelan president in Caracas. Nicolas Maduroand later transferred him to a federal prison in New York.
