The Indonesian Justice sentences the two murderers of the Spanish Matilde Muñoz to 18 years in prison

The session took place this Wednesday in the Mataram court (Lombok), where the trial began on December 17, and the sentence corresponds to the sentence that the prosecutor, Made Saptini, had requested at the beginning of the month.

The accused are one employee and one former employee Indonesians from the hotel where Muñoz was staying in Lombok, who admitted during the trial having entered to steal the Spanish woman in the early hours of July 2 in her room at the establishment and killed her after going into “shock” when she woke up.

The Prosecutor’s Office had accused them of homicide, premeditated murder and robbery with violence, crimes that can carry between 15 years in prison and the death penalty, although Indonesia does not usually apply it.
