Former mayor Ricardo Sousa came first in the ranking of names on the ballot papers for the presidential elections on January 18th, with Henrique Gouveia e Melo coming in 14th and last place.
According to the results of the draw this Friday, December 19th, held at the Constitutional Court, the first name to appear on the voting slips is that of the former PSD councilor at Paredes Municipal Council Ricardo Sousa, while Gouveia e Melo occupies the last position.
The president of the TC, José João Abrantes, led the proceedings, before representatives of the various candidacies and journalists, who for the first time were able to attend the session.
In the draw, the first name to come out of the ballot box was that of Luís Marques Mendes, who was then assigned number 11. The same procedure was adopted for the other candidates, establishing the final order.
André Pestana appears in second place in the report, Jorge Pinto (supported by Livre) in third position, Joana Amaral Dias in fourth, Manuel João Vieira in fifth, José Cardoso in sixth, Catarina Martins (supported by BE) in seventh, followed by João Cotrim Figueiredo (supported by IL) and Humberto Correia, in ninth.
António José Seguro (supported by the PS) occupies 10th place, followed in the bulletin by Marques Mendes, the candidate who has the support of the Government parties (PSD and CDS-PP), while André Ventura (supported by Chega) is in the 12th line and António Filipe (supported by the PCP) in the 13th.
By the deadline of December 18th, 14 citizens went to the TC who submitted documentation with the intention of running for the Palácio de Belém, according to a source from the general secretariat of the sovereign body.
Ratton Palace judges have until December 24th to verify the admissibility of the proposals, namely the minimum number of 7,500 valid signatures from voting citizens.
There is an appeal period for applications considered ineligible or with irregularities and the final decision is made by January 2nd.
