Several people have died following an explosion in a bar in the luxurious alpine ski resort of Crans-Montana, in the heart of the Swiss Alps, according to Swiss police in the early hours of this Thursday.
“There has been an explosion of unknown origin,” he told the agency. AFP Gaetan Lathion, spokesman for the Police of the canton of Wallis, in southwestern Switzerland. The agent explained that there are “several” dead and injured, although without specifying the numbers.
The explosion occurred around 1:30 am (00:30 GMT) at the Le Constellation bar, popular with tourists, while attendees were celebrating the New Year.
