The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
This comes just after a 21-year-old beauty queen was killed in a horror crash alongside her boyfriend on Mexico’s Jalostotitlán-Teocaltiche Highway.
Alison Montaño Guerrero, who had been crowned Miss Teocaltiche just one week earlier, was trapped inside the vehicle following a head-on collision with a lorry.
Both her and her boyfriend, Jesús Eduardo Severiano García, were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services.
The young beauty queen had been studying Psychology and Education at the University of Guadalajara.
She has been described as a dedicated student by local media.
Teocaltiche authorities paid tribute to a “true source of pride“, saying: “She didn’t just captivate with her beauty – she also proved to be an outstanding young woman with strong values.
“Her legacy leaves an enduring mark of joy, kindness and dedication.”
The Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation to establish the exact cause of the accident.
