ALL flights in Greece have been grounded as airports struggle with communication issues – plunging the country into travel chaos.
The Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority announced that its entire airspace would be closed until 4pm as authorities scramble to deal with the gremlin.
Flights en route to Greece have been diverted to other countries in the meantime, according to state broadcaster ERT.
Arrivals and departures have been suspended due to unspecified issues affecting radio frequencies, the country’s aviation authority said.
They added that Athens Flight Information Region (FIR) are still servicing a limited number of overflights but restrictions on airport operations are in place for safety reasons.
