The average waiting time for non-urgent patients reached this Saturday, December 13th, at 10 am in Amadora-Sintra, with urgent patients (yellow bracelet) waiting more than six hours.
According to data published on the National Health Service portal, at 9:14 am, the general emergency room in Amadora-Sintra had 33 users and an overall average first observation time of 10 hours. The 22 users classified as urgent faced a wait of 6:22 hours and the two very urgent ones were waiting for around two hours.
In the case of Hospital Garça de Orta, in Almada, the waiting time for the first observation was just over an hour.
At Beatriz Ângelo, in Loures, the SNS portal indicated an average of three hours for the first observation, but those with little urgency could wait around eight hours.
According to the triage system, very urgent situations (orange) are recommended to be attended to within 10 minutes following triage, while urgent cases (yellow) require 60 minutes and less urgent cases (green) require 120 minutes.
According to information on the SNS Portal, “the calculation of the average time is given by the average time elapsed since the user entered the phase they are in (waiting for screening, waiting for the first observation or under observation)”.
