The Lisbon stock exchange is trading at a high, with Semapa rising 25% to 21.25 euros after the group announced the sale of Secil for a enterprise value of 1.4 billion.
Thus, at around 9:30 am in Lisbon, the PSI-20 reversed the opening and advanced 0.62% to 8,179.92 points. The session recorded nine rising titles, five falling and two unchanged (CTT at 7.42 euros and Ibersol at 9.94 euros).
Remember that Semapa, whose shares had closed on Thursday rising 1.43% to 17 euros, announced this morning the sale of Secil to Molins, an operation that should be completed in the first quarter of 2026.
Secil, founded in 1930, is described by Semapa as “one of the main Portuguese companies in the cement sector, with an international presence and a trajectory of growth and value creation recognized in the sector”.
The Semapa group employs more than 8,000 people and operates on four continents, with more than 75% of its turnover obtained abroad.
Looking at the rest of the market, the highlights of Navigator (+2.04% to 3.10 euros), Altri (+1.85% to 4.41 euros) and Mota‑Engil (+1.22% to 4.99 euros).
Modest increases were also recorded by Teixeira Duarte (+0.91% to 0.66 euros), EDP Renováveis (+0.68% to 11.77 euros), NOS (+0.38% to 3.95 euros), Sonae (+0.25% to 1.61 euros) and EDP (+0.08% to 3.86 euros).
Conversely, REN fell 2.12% to 3.23 euros, Galp 0.82% to 13.99 euros and Jerónimo Martins 0.30% to 20.24 euros. Also falling were Corticeira Amorim (-0.15% to 6.55 euros) and BCP (-0.02% to 0.88 euros).
The main European markets presented a mixed tone, in a session marked by the ECB’s decision to maintain policy rates at 2% and the 0.25 point reduction by the Bank of England.
