THIS is the terrifying moment two men are sent flying after playing with a lighter over an oil drum.
The shocking video shows one man clicking a lighter above a seemingly empty oil drum – with dramatic consequences.
The metal drum explodes into flames, and propels both youths into the air.
The explosion took place in the city of Recife, in the Brazilian state of Pernambuco, on January 7.
Footage caught by a security camera shows one man standing in front of a metal barrel, with the other sitting on top of another nearby oil drum.
The pair seem to be messing around with some kind of vapour residue left in the barrels.

One of the men ignites the residue in an open barrel with a lighter.
It flickers slightly, but he seems unsatisfied.
Then the man’s friend takes a hammer to a closed barrel, making a small hole in the top of it.
The man with a lighter decides to try and ignite the closed barrel.
This is what causes the explosive reaction.
When it catches light, the closed barrel explodes, leaping into the air and sending both men flying.
The man who lit the fire is thrown back onto the drum he had been sitting on, hitting his head against the metal.
He then falls to the ground, but seems to get away without being seriously injured.
His friend, who made the hole in the barrel, is also thrown back, covering his head.
Both men are able to walk away from the scene of the incident, seemingly unharmed.
The drums belong to a coconut shop where the two young men work, neighbours said.
It’s not known what the flammable material was inside the barrel which caused the explosion.
It comes after eight people were killed in a gas explosion in Pakistan, including a newly married couple.
When a gas cylinder exploded, what should have been the happiest night of the couple’s lives turned into a scene of unimaginable devastation.
The chairman of Pakistan’s Senate, Yusuf Raza Gilani, called the tragedy “a heart-wrenching incident that turned celebrations into mourning”.
