US President Donald Trump stated that Europe is politically weak and announced that he will support European leaders aligned with his foreign policy vision. On the other hand, he admitted using military force to overthrow the Venezuelan regime.

Numa interview with Politico newspaperTrump denounced that European leaders “don’t know what to do”, accusing them of exaggerating political correctness and failing to control immigration, a situation that, in his opinion, could lead to the disappearance of some European countries as viable states.

The North American head of state classified Europe as a group of “decaying” nations, led by “weak” leaders, and pointed to cities like London and Paris as examples of systems under pressure due to immigration from Africa and the Middle East.

Trump also reacted to criticism from the president of the European Council, António Costa, who accused Washington of interfering in European democratic life, reiterating that he will explicitly support European leaders and political forces who share his strategic vision.

“I will support. I have already supported people that many Europeans do not like”, assured Trump, citing as an example the Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orbán, praised for his border control policies, in line with the new strategic foreign policy plan released by the White House.

About the war in Ukraine, Trump considered Russia to be in a stronger position than Kiev and downplayed the role of European leaders in the peace processsaying that “they talk, but they don’t show results”.

The American president recalled having recently presented a new draft peace plan, adding that some Ukrainian officials viewed it favorably, and insisted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should read it.

Trump also once again defended the holding of new elections in Ukraine, questioning the country’s democratic quality in a prolonged context of war.

Regarding the situation in the Caribbean, Trump did not rule out the possibility of using US military forces in Venezuelaas part of the effort to overthrow the Nicolás Maduro regime.

“I neither exclude nor confirm”Trump said about this hypothesis, stressing that he does not intend to publicly discuss military strategies, but admitting that he would also consider the use of force in other countries in the region, such as Mexico and Colombia, in the fight against drug trafficking.
